Post-Laser Do's & Don'ts
- Cool it down: Apply a cold compress or wrapped ice pack for 10-15 minutes to reduce redness or swelling.
- Hydrate: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or 100% aloe vera to soothe the area.
- Protect from the sun: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily. Avoid direct sun for at least a week to prevent hyperpigmentation.
- Wear loose clothing: This minimizes friction on sensitive skin.
- Avoid heat for 24-48 hours: Skip the gym, saunas, hot showers, and steam rooms. Excessive sweating and heat can inflame the hair follicles.
- No harsh products: Do not use retinoids, glycolic acid, perfume, or harsh exfoliants for about a week.
- Do not scratch or pick: Avoid picking at your skin if a crust develops, as it can lead to scarring or infection.
- No plucking or waxing: Only shave between treatments. Do not wax, tweeze, or use hair removal creams, as these remove the root and disrupt your treatment cycle.
Duration: The duration of a session varies depending on the area being treated, typically ranging from 15 minutes for smaller areas to 60 minutes for larger or multiple areas.
